Olivia Rodrigo Makeup Game Project

When The Guts Tour started, Olivia’s sparkly makeup stole the show. After doing the Sabrina animation, I wanted to try the same concept again but with Olivia and her style. The concept was stronger this time. Instead of creating multiple looks, I made the “game” focused on getting Olivia ready for her show, recreating her stage look.

The Original Look

Olivia’s Grammy’s look from 2024 was just beautiful! The even lighting of red carpets make great lighting for edits and references. While she had a bold red lip, her makeup was more on the subtle side, so I thought that would be easy to work with.

Bare Face Reference

Since this was a makeover game, I needed reference for Olivia’s natural features with makeup so I could recreate them accurately.

Guts Tour Makeup

I made sure to get the most high quality close-up references I could for her makeup. She had some varying looks for different shows, but I focused on recreating

Outfit

I used this picture to photoshop the top on her. It was the clearest image I could find.

Fully Unedited

The composition without effects so you can see what I started with. I used stock images for the makeup products - when searching, I mainly focused on the shapes I wanted, because I knew I could always change the colors.

The Silver Top

Middle Part

Due to the side part in the reference image, I had to change her hair to be a middle part like when she performs. Honestly, I had a lot of trouble with this part. I couldn’t find enough high-quality images and it was kind of a mess to frankenstein together. I could do much better now.

Bare Face

This is always the most fun part. Adding the natural skin hues back to the face and making her eyelashes and eyebrows less pronounced. Had to remove the shading from her lipstick and added a dewy shine for healthy skin. The most noticeable thing to recreate was her flushed nose.

Final

The finished makeup recreation and color correction to unify the lighting.

Voice Clip

It took me a while to find a voice clip I wanted (I actually wanted to include talking in the Sabrina animation originally, but couldn’t find a goof one) but I finally found one in the exact context I needed. An old Vogue beauty secrets interview. I cut it up to be more simplified, extracted the music, and exported it to be crushed.
